After arriving at Singapore Changi International Airport and going through the luggage claim and Customs, you will be met in the Arrival Hall and transferred to the hotel, where you will spend the evening.

Note: A private van or SUV will be used to transfer couples or parties of two between the airport and the hotel. Vans hold a maximum of four pieces of large luggage (total) plus one carry-on sized bag per person. A sedan will be used for solo guests, which can hold 2 large suitcases and a carry-on. If you will have more luggage, a larger vehicle may be required for additional cost. Please advise your booking agent at least 14 days before sailing if a larger vehicle is required. Transfers are with driver only.

The remainder of the day will be at your leisure and meals will be on your own.

Located just outside Siem Reap, Cambodia, the jungles of Angkor offer a distinguished opportunity to explore the rich history and remarkable architecture of the Khmer Empire. Once concealed beneath dense vegetation, the temples of Angkor now stand as one of the world's largest religious monuments. Among them, Angkor Wat is particularly notable for its grand scale and intricate carvings. Visitors also pass through the formidable gates of Angkor Thom, the final capital of the Khmer Empire, to examine the renowned Bayon Temple.

Please note:

-There is extensive walking over uneven ground at the temple sites - at times up to 2 km, with steps at Bayon and Angkor Wat. This tour is not suitable for guests with walking difficulty or if confined to a wheelchair. It can also be very hot and humid there.

DAY 1

After flying into the Singapore International Airport, you will be met outside of Customs and transferred to your hotel. Check-in time is at 3:00pm, and while every effort will be made to have rooms available earlier, this cannot be guaranteed. Should you have an early arrival time you may wish to book an extra night so that a room is ready upon your arrival.

You will spend the remainder of the day settling in and enjoying the amenities at your hotel or the sites of the city. Meals are on your own today.

Since guests are permitted 1 checked bag and 1 carry on for the flights to and from Siem Reap, we suggest separating any excess luggage for storage. It will be collected in the morning and stored at the hotel until your return on Day 4. Please remember to bring any valuables, medication and documents with you.

DAY 2

Following check out and excess luggage storage, you will transfer to the Singapore International Airport. Upon arrival, proceed through check-in for your flight to Siem Reap. You will be accompanied on the flight by a representative from our local ground agency.

On arrival in Siem Reap you will be met and assisted with obtaining your Cambodian Entry Visa. You will then proceed to the Angkor Site to collect your temple passes which are required for touring. Once this has been issued, proceed to a local restaurant for lunch.

NOTE: Your passport will be kept by our program operations team in order to process the visa on arrival and for exit procedures on departure day. Your passport will be safely returned to you on Day 4.

This afternoon, explore the archaeological treasures of Angkor Wat, the highlight of your program and seat of the once mighty Angkor Empire. It was from here that kings ruled over a vast territory that extended from the tip of what is now southern Vietnam, northward to Yunnan in China, and westward to the Bay of Bengal.

Your expert guide will show you the best spots for taking photos of this massive temple complex as you walk amid the moss-peppered cobbled pathways, gazing up at the intricately carved tower tops, or climb the steep, narrow temple steps that lead to wide courtyards.

Contemplate the temple's spiritual power while you stroll in the cool shade of its hallways, stopping to take in the perfume of burning incense. Lose yourself in contemplation as you catch the rays of sun dancing off the bas relief carvings at sunset, the chatter of monkeys reverberating off the temple walls.

You will have approximately 2 hours to explore its archaeological treasures with your guide before returning to your hotel to freshen up. Enjoy a group dinner either at the hotel or at a local restaurant (TBA).

DAY 3

Following breakfast, you will venture to the city of Angkor Thom including the renowned Bayon Temple built in the 12th Century, the Terrace of the Leper King and the Elephant Terrace, a sandstone wall covered with carved hunting scenes and three-headed elephants.

Continue to visit the un-restored temple of Ta Prohm which is famous for its forest atmosphere and enormous fig trees. This temple looks just as it did when the first European explorer arrived. It is also the location of many of the scenes filmed for Angelina Jolie’s huge blockbuster movie, Tomb Raider.

After lunch at a local restaurant, visit Satcha, a Cambodian handicrafts center that fosters local artisans who mix traditional knowledge with contemporary design to showcase their talents and highlight Cambodian culture. Their aim is to encourage the young generation to perpetuate this ancestral know-how while creating unique and desirable products, allowing them to further develop their core skills to become autonomous and financially independent.

Continue to look around the Old Market (Phsar Chas) - the most popular with tourists and visitors, offering the greatest selection of souvenirs, textiles, handicrafts, statues, and curios of any of the traditional markets.

DAY 4

This morning, you will discover the center of Apopo, a registered Belgian non-governmental organization and US non-profit which is known for training southern giant pouched rats to detect landmines and tuberculosis using their advanced sense of smell, making detection safer and more efficient.

At Apopo’s Siem Reap center, you will be able to tour a museum about global mine clearance challenges and see demonstrations of the trained rats at work. The animals are not harmed in any way here.

After an enlightening morning, return to your hotel for some free time and lunch on own. Later in the afternoon, check out, settling any incidental charges before you depart and then transfer to the airport for a flight back to Singapore.

Upon arrival at Singapore’s Changi Airport, a local English-speaking representative will be waiting in arrivals to greet you. Once all luggage is collected and the group has gone through Customs and Immigration, you will transfer to your hotel for the evening. The evening is at leisure and dinner is on your own.

Expected Weather:

Hot and Dry. The average midday temperatures can hover to upper 30s C (85-90 F), especially in inland areas like Siem Reap. The sun can be quite intense, and the air becomes hazier with the rising humidity. Though sometimes quite hot, the lack of rain still leaves this good time of year to visit the temples.

What to Bring:

On this tour the key words are comfortable and casual. Please avoid uncovered shoulders, shorts or revealing clothing. Full length trousers or pants and/or skirts covering the knees are required to be worn when visiting Angkor Wat.

Although dinners are not formal, you may want to bring something a bit dressier for that time of day.

Bring a hat or a head covering for sun protection and don’t forget your sunscreen, sunglasses and mosquito repellant (suggested for sunrise and sunset hours). It is also a good idea to bring along a small packet of tissues or wet wipes as well as to bring flat, comfortable, closed toe walking shoes.

Visitors to any religious sites will be required to take off footwear and hats.

Currency:

The local currency is the Cambodian Riel but U.S. Dollars are commonly accepted in Cambodia. You should take smaller denominations of U.S. Dollars with you, as they will keep you from ending up with a lot of local change that you will not be able to re-exchange back home.

Electricity:

Rooms are equipped with 220-volt, two-pin US style electrical outlets. We recommend travelling with your own universal adapter should you have electronic devices.

Water:

Avoid tap water and drinks with ice in them. Drink mineral water and drinks in sealed containers. Water at the hotels in both Singapore and Siem Reap is potable.

Luggage:

Guests will be permitted to bring a maximum of one checked suitcase (20 kg or 44lbs) and one small carry on free of charge. Any additional or overweight pieces will be in excess, and fees will be paid to the airline at your expense when checking in for the flights.

For this reason, luggage storage will be available at the hotel in Singapore and you will be re-united with it on Day 4 upon your return to Singapore.

Please ensure that all excess bags to be stored are tagged properly and visibly with your full name and suite number on the ship. Note that Regent Seven Seas Cruises, the hotel, nor our local ground operator are liable for any lost or missing items. We do not recommend leaving valuables behind or in checked luggage. You should keep any valuables, medications and documents with you in your carry-on handbag.

1.Portable Oxygen Concentrator (POC) - Guests must obtain a Doctor’s Certificate mentioning their medical condition and the need to carry a POC. Further paperwork may be required by the airline. Please advise RSSC of the specifics at least 14 days before sailing.

2.CPAP Machine NOT being used in flight – please advise RSSC upon booking this program if you will bring a CPAP on the internal flights used in this land program. Please supply the make, model and battery type.

3.CPAP Machine to be used during flight – same as above + a doctor’s note is required mentioning the need to use the machine during flight.

*Guests are required to bring with them any details from the manufacturer regarding the CPAP specifications. While most modern CPAP machines are FAA-approved for in-flight use, having a copy of your manufacturer’s FAA-approval status will help to quickly clear any confusion that may arise.

* Failure to provide the above details in a timely manner may result in a denial of this equipment at the airport for which Regent Seven Seas Cruises nor our local ground operator will be responsible for.

*Some hotels do not provide distilled water. While we can certainly request this for you, we cannot guarantee that it will be available. If received in a timely manner, requests will be sent on the final manifest that our ground operators and hotels receive. We highly recommend packing your own supply especially on programs that travel to more remote locations in order to avoid not having it. Please keep in mind the rule for liquids in carry-on bags. Guests must carry a valid passport with at least 6 months validity after the program dates and have spare pages for the Cambodian Visa. Visas will be issued on arrival in Siem Reap and are included in the cost of the program.

Guests are required to submit an electronic Singapore Arrival Card within three days prior to arrival into Singapore. They are not permitted any earlier. Please follow instructions on this website https://eservices.ica.gov.sg/sgarrivalcard/ or through the official “MyICA” mobile application. Submissions are free of charge.

All travelers (Tourists, Expats and Cambodians) are also now required to submit a Cambodia e-Arrival Card within 7 days before their arrival via a mobile app or at https://arrival.gov.kh/

VERY IMPORTANT – The name on your cruise booking, passport and any visas if required, must all be exactly the same for flight ticket purchase for this program otherwise guests may be denied travel by flight. Please ensure that all documents are identical in spelling to the names provided for your cruise reservation including first, middle and last name. Manifests generated by the cruise line must match your travel documents.

Failure to have the required documents ahead of time or incorrect names on flight tickets will result in either denial of travel or ticket re-purchase and guests will be responsible for any fees incurred.

Please note: Land programs that encompass multiple days ashore customarily include extensive and prolonged activity, while those of shorter durations typically have more moderate activity levels. However, each program varies, and participants should be prepared to negotiate a mixture of surfaces which may include inclines, cobblestones, sand, and gravel or natural paths. There may also be a need to climb steps or stairs on occasion. Guests who utilize a wheelchair and those with mobility concerns are advised to check with the cruise line in advance to see if any portion of the tour program may not be considered suitable for their individual situation. Weather appropriate clothing; hats; sunglasses; and flat, comfortable walking shoes are generally recommended.

Please note: All land programs are capacity controlled and subject to availability. Programs falling under the minimum number of required participants are subject to cancellation. Pricing listed is also subject to change to meet unexpected cost increases for transportation, land arrangements or currency fluctuations. Once purchased, pricing is guaranteed and not subject to change. Land Programs must be purchased no later than 90 days prior to your sail date. Cancellations made within 90 days or less prior to the sail date are subject to 100% cancellation penalty. There are no refunds for unused portions of any program. Guests failing to arrive on Day 1 of a scheduled land program will be considered a no-show and their hotel space released.
