Following disembarkation from the ship in Lisbon you will pass through some of Portugal’s most inspiring countryside on the way to Mafra. Here, at the revered Palace of Mafra, which was constructed of local limestone and marble in the 18th Century, you will behold priceless art and period furnishings that were characteristic of the royal lifestyle. At one time, the palace also served as a Franciscan monastery.

After visiting the extraordinary palace, you will continue even deeper into the countryside to the winery “Adega Mãe”: a temple built to honour wine. During the visit, you will know the production process of both white and red wines and be able to take a peek into the greatness of the storage and fermentation vats, the lab and go through the Time Room, where wines rest, and aromas mix with the scent of the French oak barrels. At the end of the tour enjoy a tasting on the cellar’s noble room, with wide windows that provide an unforgettable view of the mountains of Socorro and Archeira.

Following lunch at the winery, you will travel to your hotel along a spectacularly scenic coastal route. Following check-in, the remainder of the day and dinner will be on your own to enjoy as you please.

After departing from the hotel, meet your guide and begin the scenic drive towards the Belem Quarter, where you can admire the Monument of Discoveries, the Tower of Belém and Jeronimos Monastery. Continuing on to downtown Lisbon, you will pass lovely Liberdade Avenue, the elegant shopping area of Chiado and the heart of the commercial area, Praça do Comércio and Alfama. Stop to taste the traditional pastry - pastéis de nata.

Alfama takes its name from the Arabic Al-hamma, meaning fountains or baths. It contains many important historical attractions and traditional Fado restaurants along its narrow and winding streets. The medieval Castle of São Jorge overlooks the Alfama and offers one of the best views of the city.

Also see Lisbon Cathedral, also known as the Sé. Although it looks like a medieval fortress, the interior is glorious and includes the font where St. Anthony of Padua was supposedly baptized in the 12th Century. 注意：an interior visit is not made.

By midday, you will return to the hotel to relax and grab some lunch (on own).

Enjoy the amenities of your luxurious resort, which was once the private residence of the Count of Valencas. Lapa Palace Hotel is conveniently located within an easy drive to many of Lisbon’s attractions.

The entertainment for the evening will be at a typical Fado restaurant. Here, you will enjoy a traditional Portuguese dinner and watch a Fado show. Fado is Portuguese folk music that is melancholy by nature and usually played on guitars and mandolins. The lyrics tend to be poetic and involve themes such as love and sadness.

After departing from the hotel, you will drive to Sintra, a beautiful town nestled in the forested foothills of the Sintra mountains. Your experience here begins with free time to wander about the atmospheric streets, enjoy the sweeping views and thoroughly relax.

Inside and out, it looks like an eccentric mix of different castle styles and features. Explore the Belem district and see the magnificent Jerónimos Monastery, an extraordinary example of Portugal's 'Manueline' style of architecture. Once populated by monks, the UNESCO-listed monastery was commissioned by King Manuel I to commemorate Vasco da Gama’s famous voyage to India in 1497.

Time permitting, see Torre de Belém (Belém Tower), one of Lisbon's most iconic buildings and symbolic of Portugal's great Age of Expansion.

Situated in the Alentejo region, this historic and architecturally rich town is home to a number of treasures. Cobbled streets tucked behind fortress walls, historic sights, and incredible dining make this UNESCO World Heritage Site (the city itself) a must-see.

During your tour, you will have the opportunity to visit the Cathedral, or Sé, with its fortress-like appearance, as well as the Church of St Francis, which is one of the city's grandest churches after the Cathedral and well known for its blend of Gothic and Moorish styles and the Chapel of the Bones.

Marvel at the fourteen original granite Corinthian columns of the Roman Temple before exploring the Moorish arches and pretty alleyways in the town center. After having ample time on own to enjoy a lunch of local delicacies, a visit will be made to Évora University, the second oldest in the country and noted for its impressive architecture.

This evening, transfer to the Dark Sky Alqueva Observatory. Nestled in the heart of Alentejo, the Alqueva sky offers a breathtaking view, resembling a dark velvet canvas adorned with countless stars. This hands-on experience culminates in a shared meal, bonding over food, wine, and stories with your hosts.

Apart from all the fauna and flora that live off the cork trees, do not be surprised to come across a wide variety of wildlife, including boar, mongoose, hares and many species of birds.

After the walking tour, discover the world of Herdade da Maroteira wines on a guided tour of the estate, where you will visit the winery and tasting room. Enjoy a tasting of Maroteira wines, accompanied by Iberian pork ham and cheese.

Disembark in Lisbon where you will be met at Lisbon Cruise Terminal by an English-speaking guide. Transfer to Praia D’El Rey Marriott Golf & Beach Resort with luggage assistance included. The drive takes approximately 1.5 hours depending on traffic.

Check in at the Resort is 3:00p.m. Although every effort will be made to have rooms available before this time, this cannot be guaranteed. Should your room not be available when you arrive, luggage can be stored at Reception so you can begin to explore and enjoy the facilities of the resort.

The remainder of the day is at leisure and meals and activities are on your own.

Enjoy a delicious breakfast at the resort and then a full day at leisure before heading home. Relax and enjoy the resort’s amenities, time on the beautiful beach or choose to independently arrange a golf tee time or spa treatment. Activities today are at your own cost. The resort’s concierge will be able to assist however we do recommend arranging golf in advance via the Praia D'El Rey Golf Course directly.

Following breakfast at the hotel and check out, transfer by private vehicle to Lisbon’s Humberto Delgado Airport in accordance with your flight details. Transfer time is approximately 1.5 hours depending on traffic.

Check out is by noon; however, should you have a late flight, luggage storage will be available at the hotel until your scheduled transfer.

注意：A private van or SUV will be used to transfer couples or parties of two between the airport and the hotel. Vans hold a maximum of four pieces of large luggage (total) plus one carry-on sized bag per person. A sedan will be used for solo guests, which can hold 2 large suitcases and a carry-on.
