Patreksfjörður is remote, stunning and home to no more than 700 residents – still making it the largest town in the southern part of the Westfjords. Early in the 20th century, Patreksfjörður was a pioneering force in Iceland's fishing industry and it continues to influence the culture to this day. During your time here witness the imposing Látrabjarg cliffs, stunning Rauðasandur beach and pristine Dynjandi waterfall, which are all within reach. Visit the Folk Museum at Hnjótur to see remarkable items from the town’s history, as well as boats and equipment for whale-hunting.
