Settle in for a relaxing journey through the picturesque countryside to Berlin, where you will view the most iconic landmarks before visiting a private home. Upon arriving, you will see highlights such as the Kaiser Wilhelm Memorial Church, the Reichstag building, iconic Brandenburg Gate and the Kurfurstendamm, the wide boulevard that has been likened to the Champs-Elysees in Paris. You will also drive through the historical heart of Berlin, known as the Gendarmenmarkt, or perhaps continue on to Checkpoint Charlie and the Berlin Wall, the most recognized symbols of the once-divided city. Afterwards, you will visit with a Berliner in his privately owned apartment. While enjoying a glass of champagne, you will tour the apartment for a candid glimpse into what it is like to live in downtown Berlin. The owner will be happy to answer questions, so feel free to inquire about the culture or anything else that comes to mind.

  • Dress in weather-appropriate clothing.
  • Wear flat comfortable walking shoes.
  • Bring Euros as not all shops accept other currency or credit cards.
  • Travel time to and from Berlin is about three hours each way. An escort will accompany you to and from Berlin and introduce you to the local guide in Berlin. This tour includes very little walking during the visits, but there are stairs to manage at the apartment. Additional walking and the level of exertion during free time and photo stops are at the guests’ discretion. This tour is not available for wheelchair guests and not recommended for those with mobility concerns. Most shops are closed on Sundays. Guests who go ashore do so with the understanding that they will be mixing with members of the general public.
