Either way, you’ll be surrounded by oak, birch, yew and aspens towering over lush carpets of moss and fern. Keep an eye out for wildlife during your spin, too – a large herd of red deer bounds through the park, peregrine falcons and occasional golden eagles soar its skies, while foxes and badgers live in the open heath. A more civilized highlight will be when you stop for views of Glenveagh’s iconic centerpiece, the castle and loch-side gardens of this wonderland’s original owner.
