説明

This excursion is for guests who are fully dependent on their mobility device. You will be required to supply your own wheelchair/scooter.

Follow an accommodating route through the ruins of Herculaneum and then settle in for a panoramic drive through the heart of Naples. Like the more famous Pompeii, Herculaneum was destroyed by the eruption of Mount Vesuvius in 79 AD. Fortunately for archaeologists, the city was buried under volcanic ash and mud, which preserved it. You can expect to view elaborate bath houses decorated with mosaics and frescoes, luxurious residences such as the House of the Black Salon and the Thermopolium, a food distribution center for the poor. In the somber House of Skeletons near the old marina, volcanic gases and ash trapped more than 125 people, whose excavated bones have revealed much to anthropologists. You will gain a different historical insight while driving through Naples. From the comfort of your seat, you will see the lavish Royal Palace, the so-called New Castle from the 13th century and the San Carlo Theater, an ornate opera house.
