Land Programs & Hotels

  • Discover the charm of Northern Italy’s Veneto region with this enchanting journey through Verona, Lake Garda, and Venice. History, natural beauty, and romance come together for an unforgettable experience.

    DAY 1

Arrive at the Venice Airport. You are met outside Customs and transferred by private vehicle to your hotel.

    Check-in time is 3:00pm.

The remainder of the day is at your leisure, any meals are on your own.

Note: For couples or bookings with two or more guests, a private van will be used for the airport transfer and a sedan will be used for solo travelers. Vans hold a maximum of four large suitcases and two carry on pieces and sedans hold up to two large suitcases and a carry-on. Should you have more luggage than this, a larger vehicle may be required with a surcharge.

For guests with early arriving flights, you may wish to book an extra night to guarantee room availability upon arrival otherwise guests may leave luggage with Reception and begin to enjoy the facilities of the hotel.

The Byblos Art Hotel Villa Amistà, located approximately 25-minutes from Venice, is a luxurious and unique villa turned luxury hotel inspired by the tradition of the Veneto region. It boasts an impressive permanent collection of contemporary art and a combination of historic and contemporary pieces of furniture. The art design rooms are quite elegant and for nature lovers, a beautiful 20,000 square meter park offers an evocative setting with magnificent secular plants, fountains made from Verona marble and an elegant swimming pool.

    DAY 2

Enjoy breakfast at the hotel before meeting an English-speaking tour assistant in the hotel lobby. Depart by motorcoach to Verona where upon arrival you will meet a local English-speaking guide for your tour.

Verona has been a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 2000. It is home of Romeo and Juliet, a place of history, culture, music, architecture and high society. It is also one of the richest cities in Roman remains.

On your walking tour you will visit and admire the Arena – a Roman amphitheater built in 30 BC, which once rivalled the Colosseum. Today it is the third largest arena in the Roman world.

In Piazza delle Erbe, discover a square that has been the center of Veronese life since the days of the Romans.

A Venetian lion stands atop a column to the north of the Piazza, signifying Verona’s absorption by the Venetian Republic in 1405. The Maffei Palace, built in 1668, today houses luxury apartments and elegant boutiques.

Don’t miss Piazza dei Signori, where a 19th-century statue of the poet Dante graces the square, gazing out upon the 14th-century Palazzo della Ragione—the Veronese law court.

Behind Dante’s statue lies the Renaissance Loggia del Consiglio (1493), whose council chamber boasts a fresco that includes the figures of Catullus and Pliny.

Continue to the famous Juliet’s balcony where Romeo is said to have scaled the wall at Casa di Giulietta. Pose for a photo in the small courtyard and check out the names inscribed on the wall by visitors seeking eternal love.

Following your tour of Verona, return to your hotel where the remainder of the day is at your leisure and dinner is on your own.

    DAY 3

Enjoy breakfast at the hotel before meeting an English-speaking tour assistant in the hotel lobby. Depart by motorcoach for the charming town of Sirmione where you will meet a local English-speaking guide for your tour.

Sirmione is renowned for its historic beauty, scenic views and charming streets filled with cafes and gelaterias. Here you will begin with a leisurely boat tour around Lake Garda, taking in the picturesque landscapes, quaint villages, and shimmering waters that make this destination so unique.

Your boat tour concludes in Bardolino, a vibrant lakeside town known for its colorful streets and relaxed atmosphere. Here, savor a delicious lunch featuring local flavors.

The day continues with a guided visit to a local winery, where you will explore the winemaking process and indulge in a curated tasting of fine wines, offering a true taste of the region’s viticultural heritage.

At the end of the tour, re-board your motorcoach for a transfer back to your hotel in Verona.

The remainder of the day is at your leisure and dinner is on your own.

    DAY 4

Enjoy breakfast at the hotel and then a day at leisure for independent activities.

Perhaps enjoy a relaxing session in the Wellness Center or book an exclusive wine-tasting in the wine cellar. The Concierge can also assist in booking a day trip to a surrounding region. Optional activities are at own expense. Lunch and dinner are on own

    DAY 5

After breakfast, settle any incidentals and check-out. Transfer by motorcoach to Venice where you will board a private boat transfer. Ride to St. Mark’s Square where you will have a guided walking tour of what can arguably be called one of the most popular squares in the world in undoubtedly one of the most impressive cities in the world.

On a walking tour you will discover the highlights of this marvelous city including the majestic St. Mark’s Square, considered the “largest living room in the world,” the Bell Tower, a 325 feet high bell tower (outside view), the striking Doges’ Palace (outside view) and the Basilica of St. Mark’s (outside view).

  • Enjoy the unique opportunity to visit two of the most precious and sacred sites which lie in the most beautiful and unspoiled parts of Northern Greece.

NOTE: This is an extensive 4-day program that covers a lot of ground both on foot and by luxury coach. There is a lot of driving involved. This tour is not recommended for guests with walking difficulties due to the amount of walking, steps, and uneven ground.

    DAY 1

Disembark in Athens, meet your guide and board a coach for the scenic drive to Delphi. This beautiful drive into the land of central Greece will bring you to the magnificent site of Delphi.

Delphi was considered by the ancients to be the physical and spiritual centers of the earth. This shrine of Apollo is set nearly 2.000 feet up on the slopes of Mount Parnassus. Here was the most respected oracle of antiquity. Even the most intelligent men, who lived during the brilliant civilization of Athens, believed implicitly in the responses of the god. These were given by the inspired priestess, the Pythia, and were interpreted, usually with an ambiguous touch, by the priests. Delphi grew fabulously rich with offerings, and though they have almost all disappeared now, you can admire its ruins and try to picture them as they were during their prestigious years.

Walk up the Sacred Way past the beautiful small Treasuries to the Temple of Apollo, location of the oracle; continue to the Museum with its superb collection of votive offerings and statues, including the world-famous Charioteer. A traditional country lunch will be offered at the nearby village of Arachova.

Following lunch, you will board your coach and commence the drive to the town of Kalambaka. This is the picturesque town that sits at the foot of Meteora. After checking in to the hotel, dinner will be served, and the evening will be at your leisure.

    DAY 2

After breakfast, check out and board your coach for the visit to the Meteora Monasteries. Admire the extraordinary rocks of Meteora which were formed as a result of the force of nature, and they appear to be suspended in the sky, crested with the celebrated monasteries. Today only six monasteries are inhabited, two of which have become nunneries. You are invited to delve into two of these remarkable phenomena, seemingly floating in the sky and serving as an example of the post-Byzantine era.

NOTE: Scheduled visits are for the Monastery of the Great Meteoron “Megalo Meteoro” and The Nunnery of St. Stefanos “Agiou Stefanou.” Should one be closed, it will be substituted with Moni Varlaam.

Steps vary from one to the other - The Monastery of the Great Meteoron has approximately 200 steps, St. Stefanos Monastery has approximately 10 steps and Moni Varlaam has approximately 80 steps. Coaches are able to drop off guests approximately 300- 500 feet from each Monastery.

After your visit of the Monasteries, commence the drive back to Athens. A lunch stop will be made along the way. Arriving in Athens, you will proceed directly to your hotel for check-in.

In the evening you will be met by your guide for a transfer to the picturesque Mikrolimano area in Piraeus where you will dine at Varoulko Restaurant. Lefteris Lazarou, Greece’s top-awarded Michelin Star Chef, created the restaurant’s menu so you will not be disappointed in this fantastic dining experience.

    DAY 3

Following breakfast at your hotel, begin your day with a visit to the famous site of the Acropolis. En route you will drive by Constitution Square, the House of Parliament, the Neo-Classical university buildings, the Royal Palace, and the Old Olympic Stadium of Athens.

Arriving at the foot of the Acropolis, one of the most photographed ancient monuments in the world, you will set off with your group on a walking tour to the top. Your guide will stop along the way to brief you on its history. Once you get to the top you will have some free time to explore and take photographs. Admire the ancient temples of Athena Nike and the towering Parthenon, as well as the gorgeous view of the city of Athens below.

Note: Expect high temperatures in the summer months and heavy crowds. There are upwards of 100 or more un-even steps to get to the top of the monument. There is a handrail in some spots but not all. Those not wishing to venture to the top can remain at the bottom and wait for the group to return. At the top, the ground is uneven. Large bags are not permitted here and will need to be left on the tour bus.

Next you will visit the breathtaking Acropolis Museum – an impressive building that was completed and opened in 2009 and has an exhibition space of more than 14,000 square meters. It houses every artifact found on the rock and on the surrounding slopes, from the Greek Bronze Age to Roman and Byzantine Greece. It also lies over the ruins of a part of Roman and early Byzantine Athens.

Following your visit of the museum, take a stroll with your group through the enchanting, traditional streets of Plaka, the colorful old quarter of Athens, rich in neoclassical, ancient monuments, and Byzantine Churches. Here in the Plaka, you will have a traditional Greek lunch before returning to your hotel where you will have some free time. The remainder of the day is at your leisure and dinner is on your own.

    DAY 4

Enjoy breakfast at your hotel. Check out is 11:00am. You will be transferred to the Athens International Airport per your flight schedule. Luggage storage is available at the hotel for guests with late flights.
