Enjoy a relaxing yoga class held in the shade of an ancient olive grove on Lokrum Island and then stroll through Dubrovnik’s medieval Old Town. A short but scenic boat ride will bring you to the island, which Benedictine monks first populated in the 11th century. Over time, the island was abandoned and its forest became a natural reserve. There couldn’t be a more serene place to practice yoga, as you will discover by walking through an oil grove beyond the former monastery. Here, in the shade of the trees, some of which are more than 300 years old, you will assume a variety of yoga postures with the intent of achieving peace in body and mind. A light lunch at the island’s Lacroma restaurant follows, after which you will return to Old Town for a walking tour. The ornate Cathedral of the Assumption and the 16th-century Sponza Palace are just a few of the highlights you may see.
