説明

Glimpse both ancient and recent history on this enthralling tour of Athens and the Acropolis. You’ll begin at the Panathenaic Stadium, where the first modern Olympic games were held in 1896 and played again in 2004, and pass the former Royal Palace, now the Parliament Building, which stands proudly on Constitution Square. Notice the ceremonial Greek Presidential Guard, known as the Evzones, guarding the Greek Tomb of the Unknown Soldier. You’ll enter the famed Acropolis through the Propylaea, sacred gates guarding the sanctuary of Athena. Admire the magnificent 5th-century BC Parthenon, regarded as one of the world’s most significant cultural monuments. Nearby, discover Erechtheion Temple’s six lovely maidens delicately carved into columns supporting the Porch of the Caryatids and the exquisite 5th-century BC Temple of Athena Nike. Looking down from the Acropolis, don’t miss the two ancient theaters in its shadow, the Theater of Dionysus, considered to be the world’s first auditorium, and the 2nd-century Odeon of Herod Atticus, a restored Roman theater still used for concerts and plays. Imagine the resplendent glory of ancient Athens as you explore its storied treasures.
