Enjoy the cities of Athens and Piraeus independently from the top of a brown double-decker get-on get-off bus. This is the perfect way to take in the amazing architecture, history and culture of these cities while you listen to audio commentaries available in +10 different languages. Switch from the Piraeus line to the Athens line, where, you’ll find a city full of historical and cultural monuments and sights. You’ll have the chance to explore attractions on your own, including the new Acropolis museum, the Archaeological museum and the picturesque area of Plaka and Monastiraki, full of neoclassical buildings, archaeological findings and souvenir shops. Enjoy the flavors of souvlaki, a beloved Greek street food. After immersing yourself in the vibrant sights and sounds of Athens, return to your ship from any of the 4 designated stops.

Helpful Hints

  • Wear casual, weather-appropriate clothing and comfortable walking shoes.
  • Bring a hat, sunglasses and sunscreen.
  • Carry a bottle of water from the ship, as you may require hydration.
  • The HOHO buses are shared with non-cruise tourists; expect long lines and wait times between buses. Walking on this tour is at the guests’ discretion at any stops they choose to hop-off at. Entrances to venues are not included. This tour is not recommended for guests in wheelchairs or who use scooters or who have any walking limitations. Those with mobility concerns are cautioned to carefully evaluate their personal level of stamina and ability. Weather appropriate clothing; sun cap; sunglasses; sunscreen; a bottle of water from the ship; and flat, comfortable walking shoes are recommended. Most all stops have access to public restrooms. The duration will vary based upon the guests’ choice of stops and time spent at each. The entire route for both cities without stops is approx. 3¼ hrs. Only the lower deck of the bus is air-conditioned. Consider that Athens is a city with heavy traffic. Any attraction a guest wishes to visit will be at their own expense, as tickets are not included in the price.
