Before traveling inland to the property, you will pause for photos of Kastella, a historical neighborhood on what is often referred to as the Riviera of Piraeus. The setting is so captivating that Aristotle Onassis had intentions of turning Kastella into a Greek version of Monte Carlo. The farm To Perivoli sti Vari – meaning The Orchard in Vari – is an oasis of a different sort. It lies in the town of Vari in the southern outskirts of Athens and grows organic vegetables based on the principle of permaculture, a regenerative form of agriculture that enhances rather than depletes the natural environment. It is a difference that you can taste. Enjoy a tasting of a variety of olive oils before your meal. The menu at the farm’s restaurant is seasonal, ensuring that everything will be exceptionally fresh, organic and follow a farm-to-table philosophy.
