This excursion is for guests that use a cane/walker, have limited mobility issues or for companions of those guest that have booked mobility equipment tour.

See the architectural treasures that crown the Acropolis and browse a collection of artifacts that were excavated there. From the top of the Acropolis, which can be reached by elevator, you will enjoy spectacular views of Athens and the surrounding landmarks. They include the Parthenon, the Temple of Athena Nike, the Erechtheion temple and the Propylaea, the monumental entrance to the Acropolis. These buildings from antiquity are so extraordinary that UNESCO has deemed the entire complex a World Heritage site. To enhance your understanding of these architectural wonders, you will browse the Acropolis Museum, whose design mirrors that of the Parthenon. As you proceed from floor to floor, you will view artifacts from several time periods, pieces of the Parthenon’s frieze and parts of the decorated parapet that surrounded the Temple of Athena Nike. Those decorations include a bull being led to sacrifice and the Goddess Athena resting on a rock after being victorious in battle.

  • Dress in weather-appropriate clothing.
  • PLEASE NOTES: Tour includes step-free routes, shorter distances and no stairs. Accessible restrooms with wide doors for wheelchairs are present along the tour route. Vehicles are adapted with an access ramp (or lift where available) to accommodate a limited number of wheelchairs and/or mobility scooters. Guides are not allowed to push wheelchairs; therefore, guests needing special assistance must be accompanied by an able-bodied.This tour is designed to be accessible for all guests. Please note that in order to use the special lift at the Acropolis and avoid the stairs, the Greek government requires that you bring your valid disabled ID/or Doctor’s note. Additionally, you must also bring your mobility equipment (wheelchair, rollator, walker etc.) to prove that you are in need of using the elevator. Power and electric wheelchairs as well as mobility scooters are not allowed on the elevator. You must be able and willing to transfer to a manual wheelchair to use the elevator. Guides are not allowed to push wheelchairs.
