Applaud the glorious Dolmabahçe Palace, built between 1843 and 1856 by the chief architect of Sultan Abdülmecid, Garabet Balyan, who created an intriguing blend of several European styles. During your guided walking tour, you’ll find the palace’s extraordinary décor is still largely intact. Marvel at ornate wood parquet floors, fine silk and wool carpets, paintings by renowned artists of the day, brilliant crystal chandeliers, candelabras, fireplaces and a wide array of handmade objects. After viewing the Sultan’s exquisite alabaster bathroom, see a lovely ballroom that showcases a 4 ½-ton chandelier hanging from its 117-foot-high dome. In the palace’s harem section, you’ll observe the bedrooms of the Sultan, his mother, his harem and servants. At the Four Seasons Hotel, you’ll take tea in the hotel’s inviting garden, which features alluring views of the glittering Bosphorus.

This tour must be pre-booked at least 48 hours in advance. It cannot operate on Mondays as the Dolmabahçe Palace is closed.
