Travel to Suleymaniye Mosque, a magnificent monument atop the waterfront skyline of Istanbul. It is a work, which typifies the Ottoman Empire at its peak, and holds the graves of Sultan Suleyman, and the greatest imperial architect of the era, Mimar Sinan. Upon the hill where the Acropolis of Byzantium once stood, discover the walled Topkapi Palace, official residence of Ottoman sultans for nearly 400 years.   • Dress appropriately for a mosque visit; men should wear long trousers and women should cover their hair, arms and knees.

  • This tour includes approximately three hours of moderate walking/standing, plus any additional walking at the guest’s discretion during free time. There will be steps to negotiate. The tour is available to guests who utilize a collapsible wheelchair, are able to make their own way on and off the coach and have an able-bodied companion to assist them. Guests with mobility concerns are cautioned to carefully evaluate their personal level of ability and stamina. The Topkapi Palace is closed on Tuesdays, so a visit to Beylerbeyi Palace will be substituted. The Blue Mosque will be closed to all visitors until after 2:30 pm on Fridays. Morning tours will have an exterior visit only.The order of the sites viewed or visited may vary to avoid the crowds. Please expect dense traffic conditions in Istanbul. The Suleymaniye Mosque will be closed to all visitors until after 2:30 pm on Fridays.
