Cruise the Bosphorus Strait that divides Europe from Asia and explore a spectacularly historical district on each continent. Along the way, you will pass under iconic bridges and past ornate mansions known as yalis. Commentary will describe key landmarks such as the 19th-century Dolmabahce Palace, a home so lavish its construction nearly bankrupted the imperial family. Your private boat will dock at Ortaköy so you can explore this enticing district on the European side of Istanbul. Highlights include the Esma Sultan mansion, a former yali whose fire-damaged shell now wraps a magnificent event space. You will likely see mosques, churches and synagogues side by side, a testament to the religious harmony within the district. More fascinating sights await you in Kanlica on the Asian side of Istanbul. Despite the many beautiful waterfront villas, Kanlica is known more for its creamy yoghurt traditionally made with castor sugar. A tasting will reveal why it is so celebrated.
