View the most extravagant venues in Monaco’s elite Old Town, including the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception, where many of the Grimaldi princes are buried. Along the way, you will pass the Oceanographic Museum. Prince Albert I founded the institute more than a century ago to promote oceanography, which was relatively unknown at the time. Nearby, you will view the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception, where in 1956 Prince Rainier III married Grace Kelly. Their tombs are inside, as well as an extraordinary Episcopal throne of Carrara white marble. At the palace of the reigning prince, be sure to see the 17th- and 18th-century cannons on the side of the expansive square out front. The Hôtel de Paris is another spectacular venue that you will have the chance to view from the exterior. It opened in 1864 and has attracted the rich and famous ever since, including Sir Winston Churchill.
