説明

See how fruits and vegetables are grown in rooftop gardens in Monte Carlo, resulting in fresh, organic produce for the residents and environmental benefits for the buildings. The company Terre de Monaco created the concept and now sets up and maintains the gardens throughout the city. A ride in an eco-friendly electric bus will take you to the garden next to the double-skyscraper Odeon Tower. The depth and complexity of the garden and its other sustainable enterprises may surprise you. Seasonal produce, herbs and edible flowers are grown in a number of wooden boxes. The company also raises chickens and tends beehives for honey on the site, all for the tower’s residents. A sampling will show you just how fresh and tasty the products are. These sorts of gardens also benefit the buildings by naturally cooling the rooftops and retaining rainwater that would otherwise have to be discharged.
