説明

Take a guided stroll through the cobbled streets of Stockholm’s oldest and coziest quarter – then enjoy a visit to the coolest bar in town. Clustered on one of the Swedish capital’s 14 islands, Old Town was the whole town here for centuries. Many of the buildings date from the 1500s and 1600s, and have the baroque doorways and corroded coats of arms to prove it. Be immersed in color and character as you walk along narrow, winding alleys and encounter landmarks like the immense Royal Palace, convivial Stortorget square and the old Stock Exchange – now home to the illustrious Swedish Academy and Nobel Museum. Once your thirst for culture has been sated, you’ll hop back aboard your tour coach and head for a spot that specializes in quenching another kind of thirst. The Nordic Hotel is home to the world’s first permanent ice bar, where the interior is kept below zero no matter what the season outside – and everything inside, even the glasses, is made of pure, clear ice from the Torne River in Northern Sweden. You’ll be outfitted with a warm fur poncho and mittens before entering to enjoy your complimentary vodka-or-other drink, served well chilled. Skål!

Helpful Hints

  • Wear layered, weather-appropriate clothing.
  • Flat, comfortable walking shoes are recommended.
  • This tour involves considerable walking over uneven surfaces and cobbles; it is not available to wheelchair guests and not recommended for those with mobility concerns. Non-alcoholic beverages may be served if the bar is unable to offer vodka.
