Drive past many of the most iconic attractions in Belfast before browsing the eye-opening Titanic Belfast exhibition. It won’t take long to reach the peace walls, which are covered with murals that illustrate the history of the Troubles, during which the Catholic Irish nationalists battled the Protestant British loyalists. The city center will offer a different perspective of Northern Ireland’s capital. As you admire attractions such as the Parliament and the Baroque Revival city hall, the guide will elaborate on Belfast’s history. Saint Anne’s Cathedral is another landmark from the early 20th century. Its Spire of Hope features the largest Celtic Cross in Ireland. Belfast is also synonymous with the Titanic, as the ill-fated ship was constructed there. While browsing the Titanic Belfast exhibition on the site of the former shipyard, you will learn about the world’s most famous cruise ship through displays that present its story from beginning to end.
