説明

Nature enthusiasts will be highly enthused by this excursion to County Wicklow and the amazing Powerscourt Gardens. Just a picturesque hour’s drive south of Dublin is a natural scenic wonderland with domed granite mountains and purple glens, soft rolling hills and silvery streams of cool rushing water. It quite aptly deserves the nickname “Garden of Ireland” and Powerscourt Gardens is one of its foremost attractions. This private 47-acre riverside estate is a true wonderland of formal gardens, sweeping terraces, statuary and ornamental lakes – accented by secret hollows, rambling walks and walled gardens. The main manor home dates back to the 16th century and looks every bit the part, though the structure was fully rebuilt after a devastating 20th-century fire. In addition to strolling the magnificent grounds, a highlight of your Powerscourt visit will be time spent browsing the bespoke shops within the estate – each with its own style and character. Discover a garden gift and pottery room, a room offering clothing from Irish and International designers, and a child’s emporium set in the original house kitchens. The Terrace Café offers coffee and delicious food for purchase and enjoyment in this verdant setting.
