Encounter Dublin’s landmarks on a panoramic overview drive. As Ireland’s principal port city, Dublin’s importance is well displayed by its splendid public buildings, broad boulevards and elegant Georgian squares. You’ll see fine examples as you pass the majestic Custom House along the river, all 18th-century pomp. On Dublin’s south side, you’ll pass The Old Parliament House and view Trinity College, founded over 400 years ago on a prime 40-acre chunk of city-center real estate. Resuming the Dublin drive, you’ll round Merrion and Fitzwilliam Squares and pass the National Gallery, stately Government Buildings and lush St. Stephen’s Green. At St. Patrick’s Cathedral, you’ll again venture inside, this time to admire the glorious interior and stand before the pulpit from which Jonathan Swift orated in the early 1700s. As the coach crosses the river once more, you’ll transit along wide O’Connell Street, passing the General Post Office, scene of the 1916 rising and birthplace of the modern Irish nation.
