See the landmark attractions in Cork’s compact downtown with stops at the bustling English Market and for an enlightening tour of the Jameson Distillery. While driving through lovely downtown Cork, you will pass Saint Fin Barre’s, a 19th-century cathedral built on a site where Christians have worshipped since the 8th century. You will also see Cork’s iconic Shandon Bells. Pulling a rope from down below causes the giant clappers to ring the elephant-sized tower bells. In time, you will stop to browse the English Market, a covered marketplace with a staggering array of imported exotic goods and local specialties such as drisheen, an Irish blood sausage. Another stop will be made at the Jameson Distillery in the nearby village of Midleton. During the behind-the-scenes tour, you will learn about the distillery’s move from Dublin, where it had operated for 200 years, and how the premium spirits are produced. A tasting of Jameson’s triple-distilled blended Irish whiskey follows.

  • This tour has a limited capacity; therefore, it is recommended that guests pre-book this tour as early as possible. This tour must be purchased no later than 7 days prior to the operating date. Cancellations made within 7 days or less are subject to a 100% cancellation penalty. This tour is designed to use the most wheelchair accessible routes possible. This includes step-free routes, shorter distances and no stairs. Accessible restrooms with wide doors for wheelchairs are present along the tour route. The vehicle used on this excursion is adapted with an access ramp (or lift where available) to accommodate a limited number of wheelchairs and/or mobility scooters. Guides are not allowed to push wheelchairs. Guests needing special assistance must be accompanied by an able-bodied companion. Lunch/snack costs are not included. The number of accessible vehicles is extremely limited. Guests are encouraged to make their accessible shore excursion reservations as far in advance as possible. Guests wishing to utilize a wheelchair (manual or electric) on this excursion must provide the total dimensions (height, length and width) and weight of the electric scooter or wheelchair at the time of booking.
