説明

Enjoy an overview of Valletta, the island’s capital, as well as a glimpse into Malta’s fascinating history on this enriching tour. Travel to the 18th-century Upper Barrakka Gardens, originally the private grounds of the Italian Knights of Saint John and today home to statues, plaques and monuments that commemorate important persons and events in Maltese history. You’ll appreciate marvelous sweeping views of Senglea, Cospicua and Vittoriosa, known as The Three Cities. Visit imposing Saint John’s Co-Cathedral, which boasts a celebrated Caravaggio painting, The Beheading of Saint John. Find that the cathedral’s austere exterior, designed by a Maltese military architect, contrasts with its ornately decorated interior, whose Baroque style showcases intricately carved stone walls and beautifully painted vaulted ceilings. Enjoy free time to browse local shops before rejoining your guide for a stroll past several notable sites on your way to The Malta Experience, a 45-minute big-screen presentation that brings Malta’s rich history to life. During this edifying screening, you’ll absorb facts and insights that shine a spotlight on the charms of this beguiling country.
