See Copenhagen from an ideal vantage point: aboard a private canal boat plying its many scenic waterways and passing its showiest landmarks. Your adventure begins even before you’re afloat, with a stop by the city’s most beguiling icon, the bronze Little Mermaid perched on her famous rock along the shoreline. Then it’s time to climb aboard and cruise gently through Copenhagen’s waterways. Colorful homes and businesses cluster around the canals, always hubs of activity. Along the route, you’ll pass the granite-and-copper-clad Christiansborg Palace, situated on its own tiny islet. Its foundations date back to 1167 and today it’s home of the Danish Parliament. Nearby is the Old Stock Exchange, its trademark spire formed by entwined dragons’ tails. The colorful old gabled buildings along Nyhavn quay are photogenic, and Christianshavn’s narrow canals are wonderfully atmospheric. The waterways widen substantially toward Copenhagen harbor, where your vessel will eventually make its way to the end of this enthralling – but brief – grand tour.
