You will also spend time in the 17th-century Nyhavn district, where Andersen resided in the four-story building Nyhavn 20. A historical marker commemorates the author, who wrote the The Princess and the Pea there. Other highlights include the stunning royal residence, the Amalienborg Palace, where Andersen once spent Christmas, and Rosenborg Castle, where you will find a bronze statue of the author in the King’s Garden.
