その白い石灰岩の崖が有名なラ ロシェルは魅力的な場所です。活気に満ちた港ケ デュプレ（Quai Duperré）を散策し、サンニコラの塔（Tour Saint-Nicolas）と鎖の塔（Tour de la Chaîne）の有名な景色を眺めましょう。コロー、シニャック、ヴェルネをはじめ数えきれないほどの画家たちがこの風景を描いています。数あるオーシャンフロントのレストランの一つで日よけの下に席をとり、ヨットを眺めながら美味しいシーフードのランチをお召し上がりください。見上げれば、中世に港を守る目的で建てられた3つの塔があります。現在はウォーターフロントのシンボルになっています。堂々たるたたずまいの「4人の軍曹」塔は以前は刑務所で、海賊たちが壁に描いた落書きを見ることができます。水族館もお忘れなく。数千種の生物がそれぞれの自然の生息環境を再現した空間に住んでいます。ラ ロシェルは歩行者に優しい道路でも有名です。特に17～18世紀に建てられた建築物が並ぶ街の中心部は散策にぴったり。
