Located in the northeast corner of the Peloponnese, this is archaeologically one of the most interesting areas in Greece. Traveling by motorway, you will journey around the Saronic Gulf, past Eleusis, to the Corinth Canal, where there will be a short stop for you to appreciate a breath-taking view of this spectacular canal from the bridge that is suspended 200 feet above the water. Enjoy a walk through the remains of the Market Place, a colonnaded square once surrounded by many small shops and see the celebrated Fountain of Priene, which has produced water from the earliest times, and the Lechaion Road, formerly the main thoroughfare to the port of Lechaion.

Proceeding on from Ancient Corinth, you will next travel to Mycenae where you will be treated to a typical Greek lunch at a local restaurant. After lunch, your tour continues with a visit to the somber and mighty ruins of ancient Mycenae, vestiges of a kingdom that for 400 years was the most powerful in Greece. You will enter the Citadel of Mycenae on foot, approaching it through the famous Lion Gate. Once inside, you can see the shaft graves discovered by Schliemann and visit the Beehive Tomb, referred to sometimes as the Tomb of Agamemnon - the Greek Commander-in-Chief during the Trojan War.
